Check Out the Newest Lounge at LaGuardia

Hey there Friends. Having just arrived home from a trip to NYC, we would love to share with you our thoughts about this Delta Sky Club. So…grab a cup of something warm and check out the newest lounge at LaGuardia International Airport.

Lots of Room for Lounging

Located just past security in Terminal C, the Sky Club is one of the largest in the Delta network, boasting over 35,000 square feet and seating for more than 700 travelers. Anyone who has spent time in a crowded airport lounge will really appreciate all the space available.

When we arrived at 7:30 am, there was a short queue waiting to get in. Fortunately for us, having Diamond Medallion status helped us to skip the line and head right up the escalator to start enjoying the benefits the lounge has to offer without delay.

A Little Pre-Flight Breakfast and Bloodys

We posted up at one of the two bars the lounge has and ordered a couple of virgin Bloody Mary’s before making a trip to the buffet line. With so many choices for breakfast, I decided to go with the egg white frittata, French toast, chicken sausage, potatoes, and some pineapple. The food was well prepared and most importantly, fresh. I know this may sound like a lot of food but I did just run the NYC Marathon two days prior.

Yummmmm!

After finishing our breakfast and catching up on the prior days sport’s scores on one of the two large TVs over the bar, we made our way out to the new Sky Deck, an outdoor terrace at the far end of the club.

This recent expansion offers expansive views thru the floor to ceiling windows. There was more than enough comfortable seating with charging ports aplenty. They even had these funky hanging chairs that were fun to sit in but tough to get out of with my post marathon jello legs.

What a View!!

If you are a plane enthusiast like me, this is a great place to sit and watch planes taking off and landing amidst the Manhattan skyline. I did just that whilst enjoying a nice cup of Starbucks coffee and a donut (or two – did I mention I just finished a marathon on Sunday?).

Time flies when you are having fun so before we knew it we were packing up our gear and heading off to our gate for the flight home.

The Long and Short

As far as Delta Sky Clubs go, this one is definitely in our top five. Travel can be stressful but having access to lounges like this sure makes flying more enjoyable and we are already looking forward to stopping in on our next visit to the Big Apple.

Stay Tuned…
