How Smart are You – going to Harvard for Free?

With the Boston Marathon right around the corner, we had to share with you an ABSOLUTE gem we uncovered on a recent trip. In Cambridge, which is a 20 minute ride from downtown Boston, visit the Fogg Museum at Harvard. It has priceless works of art and it costs NOTHING to go there. I mean, how smart are you – going to Harvard for free? How we found it For the first time since 2015, we went to Boston FOR FUN. That’s right, NO RUNNING. (Like at all!) But here’s the thing, we were going to Boston in mid-March. The odds of the weather being warm enough to walk the…

    The Very Best of Beantown

Maybe you’re in town for the fun run from Hopkinton to downtown Boston. Or maybe you’re a sports fan and want to make your way to Fenway. Whatever the reason, let us help you plan your trip with the very best of Beantown. First up…where you should eat The Union Oyster House Do you know how many times we visit the Union Oyster House when we’re in Boston? EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It’s THAT good. You can choose to eat family style in the dining room but we usually choose to pull a couple seats up to their cozy bar and talk “running” with all the athletes nearby. They have a…

  • Check out the Runnah Hoopla on Day 2

We got up at 7am to knock out a three mile run before all the Runnah Hoopla began, passing Paul Revere Park, the Bunker Hill Monument and the USS Constitution. Runner tip – Running early is a great way to explore a new city as you’re often out earlier than the people who live there and all the tourists. The Bunker Hill Monument is currently closed due to construction work but walking the grounds and seeing the outside is still worth the trek. The USS Constitution (aka Old Ironsides) is permanently moored at the Charlestown Naval Yard where she was built in the 1790s. Cheapskate tip – Both the Bunker…

Boston – The Search for Craft Beer, Lobster and Gelato

With our time quickly drawing to a close, we knew there were just a few more things we needed to find before we left – craft beer, lobster, our friend, Ron, and of course…gelato. I mean, if you’re STAYING in Little Italy and you DON’T have gelato, you could be breaking an important Boston law. The Quest before the Quest Before embarking on our ultimate quest, we had to take care of some things first. Pack up our room and stash our luggage Climb the 294 steps of the Bunker Hill Monument As you may remember from our tip on our first day, we discovered the Monument is closed for…
