One Perfect Day in London
Whether you’re heading over to run the marathon, or you’re just really in need of some good fish and chips, you may find yourself outside Buckingham Palace wondering what to do next. Have no fear because we got you covered. Here’s how to spend one perfect day in London. Where to Stay The Mad Hatter in Southwark The Mad Hatter in Southwark went above and beyond our expectations for a hotel room in London. The rooms were reasonably spacious, with a comfy queen bed, a space to work, and a bathroom two people could be in at the same time. Besides all this, the hotel is reasonably priced with a…

Whatever the reason, let us help you plan your trip with the very best of Beantown. First up…where you should eat The Union Oyster House Do you know how many times we visit the Union Oyster House when we’re in Boston? EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It’s THAT good. You can choose to eat family style in the dining room but we usually choose to pull a couple seats up to their cozy bar and talk “running” with all the athletes nearby. They have a…

Have you ever wanted to soak in a vat of beer?
Let me ask you, have you ever wanted to just soak in a vat of beer? Or how about drink a beer in the same bar Mozart used to frequent? Or here’s a fun one, have you seen Spider-Man: Far From Home? Regardless of your answers, you’re in luck because today we are going to do a little TBT and share with you our amazing 12 hour adventure in Prague! (Which doesn’t actually mean “Okay to Beer Fest”, in case you were wondering if the Sam Adams ad was correct.) Since we had a…

Dog Sitting in the Biggest, Small Town in America
ICYMI – we love to travel and not JUST for the sake of the adventure. Sometimes we leave our home base to provide home and pet sitting for others. Join us this week as we share of very first away from home gig in “Adventures in Dog Sitting – Louisville Edition.” (Someone, please cue a giant movie title). The Prologue July ended up being sort of a crazy month for us. We were already planning to be in Atlanta over the 4th of July weekend so Stephen could run the Peach Tree Road Race. (If you’d like to hear a funny story from that race, check out this post.) Also,…

Hidden Gem – Cliff Bell’s Jazz Club in Detroit
Looking for some “travel insider” tips? Check out our collection of hidden gems. In these posts, we will highlight some amazing sites and experiences that are under-rated and often overlooked. This week, let’s talk about a local place that we adore, Cliff Bell’s Jazz Club in Detroit, Michigan. Boston 2022 – Getting There and Being There
Boston 2022 – Getting There and Being There! Nothing compares to Boston in the Springtime – especially if you’re a runner (or runnah, as the locals say.) Check out the details of our 6 day, 5 night trip in April – getting there and finding beer! Parking – We used our normal vendor, US Park. This morning, the lot was very full and we had to wait about 20 minutes for shuttle pickup. That’s very unusual for them so hopefully it was a one time thing. Cheapskate tip – Visit Detroit Parking Coupons to save a little dough. They also offer veteran’s discounts and discounts for various businesses as well so be sure to…

Check out the Runnah Hoopla on Day 2
We got up at 7am to knock out a three mile run before all the Runnah Hoopla began, passing Paul Revere Park, the Bunker Hill Monument and the USS Constitution. Runner tip – Running early is a great way to explore a new city as you’re often out earlier than the people who live there and all the tourists. The Bunker Hill Monument is currently closed due to construction work but walking the grounds and seeing the outside is still worth the trek. The USS Constitution (aka Old Ironsides) is permanently moored at the Charlestown Naval Yard where she was built in the 1790s. Cheapskate tip – Both the Bunker…

How to Celebrate and Still Prep for a Marathon
How do you celebrate Easter while prepping for a Marathon? It’s easy if you have a plan. Our plan for this day was less walking, less beer but it would not be a day without adventure! Stephen went off to do a shake out run with some of the Marathoners near Boston Commons. I went off to visit one of many churches within walking distance of our studio. I landed at St. Leonard’s because their service time worked really well for our schedule. The exterior was really inauspicious but once you were inside…look out! Their priest was great and very relatable. Also, one of the readings that morning was done only in…
