Tall Buildings, Graffiti Lanes, and Beetlejuice

This week, let’s go back to the land down unda and head to the big city of Melbourne. We’ll see tall buildings, graffiti lanes and Beetlejuice! Just be sure NOT to say that out loud 3 times. Getting there As the Great Ocean Road faded into our rear view, the tall buildings of Melbourne came into view. Though Stephen felt pretty confident driving on the left on a two lane road, this city was something else all together. I honestly felt like some of the roads were built on a diagonal. Queen Victoria Market Our first stop of the day was the Queen Victoria Market that has indoor and outdoor…

To Drink or Not to Drink, That is the Question

Those of you who follow us know we went on our first cruise in May. It was a 10 day eastern Caribbean cruise that our friends Jerry and Shannon invited us to go on since they each won a free cruise. That being said, it was more of a “free” cruise than a free-free cruise, because there were extra costs that can’t be avoided like port fees and taxes. And then there are extras to consider – like excursions and whether or not to get “the drink package”. To drink or not to drink, that is the question we will explore this week. Offer to Upgrade…for a Small Fee With…

History Nerds and Taphophiles will LOVE This One

If you’ve been following us from winter to spring, you may have noticed a pattern: So, can you guess where we ended up in April?? That’s right, our legendary kidney donor athlete had to go back to Boston to run the marathon. Have you ever wondered what the spouses of runners do after they kiss their person good bye? Why…we worry for their safety; pray for their success; and suffer anxiety while watching their progress on the course, of course! But this time, I added my own walking tour of the American revolution and some super interesting gravestones. History nerds and Taphophiles will LOVE this one! The Cambridge House Share…

Pride, Jazz, and Art in the Big Easy

Looking back, it’s hard to believe that a person could do SO MUCH in just one day. You may remember that it started off with a tour of St. Louis Cemetery, the home of the Voodoo Queen and the future home of actor, Nicholas Cage. We ended the day walking two miles back to our hotel sometime just after 3am. In between, we experienced pride, jazz, and art in the Big Easy! Join us as we unpack one helluva day in New Orleans. Trolley Ride and Lunch Though it was barely 11, the temperature was hovering right around 10,000,000 degrees. Thankfully, the street car had air conditioning and we were…
